May 4, 2011 The alternate Race-Track Some photos of the practice in Simon Antonio at the parking-lot of the sport-complex. This was the place at the back of the airport, the road to the general aviation. The practice was on a track some feet larger than the normal size, but was very funny and they had a good day to prepare for the coming event in Curacao. Also the lap-counter was set-up and tested by the drivers. For the next coming Sunday's they hope to get the parking-lot at Frans Figaroa as usual.

March 21, 2011 R/C cars National Day Event Between a lot of activities on the island in the Aruba's National Day, the RC cars event was one of the most popular and a great crowd attended during the day. The Aruba RC News was at the beginning of this event and could take some pics and video, but in the late hours increased the great public at this event. Different models, scales, category and also speed, jump, drift and more was the show for this day. Congrats to Lithium Racing and thanks to Ling & Sons Super center to make this great event possible. R/C cars National Day Event
Between a lot of activities on the island in the Aruba's National Day, the RC cars event was one of the most popular and a great crowd attended during the day.

January 15, 2011 Lithium RC Racing Team The Lithium RC Racing Team now with their board and planning some great events for 2011 and also with other big plans for 2011. Still practicing at the Frans Figaroa Sport Complex in Noord at the parkinglot every Sunday from 10:00am to 3:00pm

January 15, 2011 ARCC indoor Flying Last indoor flight at Yara Complex was not good attended, but some planes having fun during the night. In January and February we had our RC friends of Conneticut on the island again enjoying the sun and where also in the field. The Aruba RC News is organizing a indoor flight at the indoor sport complex of Frans Figaroa in Noord. Be pending this week for more information.

October 18, 2010 RC cars drivers with a meeting There was a meeting held for some members, planning to organize the club soon looking forward to the growth of the hobby and organize the Sunday's practices and also a national race between the drivers. Day to day the interest is growing between the members and also new drivers arriving at the field.

September 13, 2010 Curacao 2010 NAPA 300 Annual Open Invitational Race In Curacao a big event of RC cars, the annual NAPA 300 race was organized by the CRCCDA. The team of Aruba was represented with 6 drivers and their crew members, races against the strong drivers of Curacao. Curacao 2010 NAPA 300 Annual Open Invitational Race
In Curacao a big event of RC cars, the annual NAPA 300 race was organized by the CRCCDA.
The team of Aruba was represented with 6 drivers and their crew members, races against the strong drivers of Curacao.

After a heavy thunderstorm Friday, the day started Saturday Saturday sept.11 in a immense hot day without any breeze.
But no matter that situation in the early morning the preparations started on the track and the the drivers and crew preparing their cars
for the qualifying that ended in the late hours of the day.
Sunday 12, was another long day starting in the early morning again with the drivers testing their cars on the track and than the race started
just after the mid-day.

We can look back at a successful event and from Aruba RC News we congratulate the organisation and to the head of the team Gio Pieternella.
Keep up the good work...

Also we have to congratulate the team of Aruba that set a good battle on the track against the Curacao Team.

August 16, 2010 RC cars enthusiasm growing... The enthusiasm in the rc cars is growing day a day in the pilots and also the spectators are finding the road to the track.
There is many new cars on the way to be soon on the track and some more beginners and old timers back on the track.
Preparations for the competition in Curacao continues and several members already confirmed their participation and also "Aruba RC News" will be there in Curacao.

August 16, 2010 Smoke Show on Cascabel Airfield Not much flights during the day but some more members and spectators on the Cascabel Airfield.
We could see the smoke effect installation of Randy's double decker Plane "Ultimate" in a very clear blue tropical sky in a flight with some great maneuvers and his smoke show.

August 9, 2010 Jet Crash on the Cascabel Airfield The biggest jet in the ARCC crashed just in the final approach. CheeChong couldn't hold the plane on final when it stalled and crashed just before landing. We still not know if there is a new one on the way or this one is going to be repaired.

August 9, 2010 RC cars practicing for international race. The rc cars now temporary training at the parking-lot of the BelFin building at Camacuri, just nearby the former J.F.K.School. This preparation practices is for the coming international race in Curacao the 11th and 12th of September.

August 9, 2010 Two RC pilots met after long time... In a restaurant on the island two rc pilots met when after a few years ago Alrick Maduro went to continue his study in Holland. He was for some weeks with vacation on the island meeting his family, and hope he can get a good job here so we can see him again on the runway...

July 15, 2010 About RC for YMCA The children of the YMCA were very impressed to see the RC Planes and cars in the lecture about this hobby.
In a vacation camp for the YMCA children at Dakota, was also this lecture on there schedule and was given by the ArubaRC News.
Many questions of the children were answered, so making it a very interesting morning for the kids and teens at the YMCA Camp.

May 11, 2010 RC Car Info-Night Successful information night for the RC car drivers at Cashero. All guests were present and also the well experienced old-timers r drivers who shared some information too. A nice presentation by Lithium RC racing, about 1/10
scale rc cars, gas and electric engines, equipments, prices and much more. Thanks to Marcel Zievinger, Roderick Arends and George Arends of Lithium RC racing for there presentation and hoped the group will have their car soon to organize some race competition on the track.

April 28, 2010 Cleaning Dyna Track More works done on the Dyna Track, cleaning now the field to prepair for the repair jobs to be done. More than 6 trucks of weed, dirt and old stof on the field where picked up and dumped.
The works are progressing every day on the field, so we hope it can be finished soon, we can see some RC cars activities on the track.

April 23, 2010 Arubian Student with his RC Hobby in Holland. Danny Koolman studying in Holland, is an Arubian pilot of RC pattern planes member of Aruba Radio Control Club. Since he left the island without his rc plane, he didn't practice his favorite hobby anymore. In a conversation with him, he decided to change to RC cars and now practicing drifting, because he likes the drift and handling a car is easier to maintain when away from home.
We forgot to ask him more details about his car like what Radio he's using for his rc car. :-) We hope to get the answer soon..... We wish him success with his study and hope he finish soon so we have him back here in the club.

The new Extra 300S close to crash

Ryan Oduber after his successfully maiden flight with his brand new Extra 300S, was close to a crash in his second try.
Just after take-off he asked for landing because of some trouble with the engine when his instructor decided to maintain a high level and keep the plane in the sky.
After some minutes flying he got an engine failure but finally he could glide the plane safely in at a left hand down wind to the runway 11 and with a perfect landing.

April 16, 2010 Works continue on the race track. The works with heavy equipment continues on the RC race track in Paradera. The first trucks are filled with a lot of garbage and waste from the field and now waiting for coming week to finish this work.
Also the track begins to get his new shape after some repairs done on the old cracked asphalt. We continue to follow those works on the track.

RC Cars preparing Race Track.

Paradera: The latest we have is the re-organization of a race-track in Paradera, that some work has done at this field.

Now the cleaning work is going on, and hope to get it done soon, to begin with repairing the track and re-building the facilities of the field.
The arrangements are made with the company to clean-up the field so the reconstruction can take place to have it with a better look.
